Orange Toes

I used another dollar store fluorescent orange from a  3 pack from Kozmic Colours as the base of my toenails.  Once applied I used my Quo by ORLY black striper and a new bright yellow striper by the same brand to add the accents on the corners at the end.  I`m still working on my striping technique.  It`s good to practice on toes because people don`t really get a good look at them.  :-)

essie nail stickers

I was away this weekend and didn`t even get my nails painted until Monday night.  People were very surprised to see my naked nails.  It`s not something they see very often... if ever LOL.  I used a dollar store metallic green per the votes on my personal Facebook page and then put the shiny silver stickers overtop my ring finger.  This is the first time I`ve used a nail art sticker before.  It didn`t quite go on smoothly on my nail (it`s got a bit of a crease at the end as seen in the first picture) but it filed off very smoothly.

Sailor Moon

When I did candy crush on my left hand I wanted to do something relatively easy on my right but related to either Facebook or the internet.  The only other thing that occupies my computer time is re-watching old Sailor Moon episodes.  This is a manicure I thought was quite lovely, although it seems to be so old I can't find its source any longer.
I started with my white striper from Quo by Orly and put the diagonal french on my nails.  I used it to put two thick lines so that I could use my normal brush to fill in the rest of the nail using Sally Hansen Nearly Nude 1 Natural White.  Once that was dry I used my toothpick and drew on the 5 scout/planet symbols from memory (it seems I forgot an arrow for Mars.  Also I smudged Mars while working on it :-(
Moon used a Quo by Orly striper Neon Yellow, Mercury used Misslyn 850, Venus I used an orange from the dollar store Kozmic Colours, Mars used a very old (and I think it's time to throw away) Maybeline Long Wearing 80 Red riot creme and finally my thumb was Jupiter with my Revlon Top Speed 330 Emerald.  Other than the smudging, I'm very happy with the result and will probably do another manicure with a diagonal french.  It looks very nice especially with my long nails at the moment.

Candy Crush

Cutepolish did a tutorial on candy crush nails (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHS-MubQJDE) so I wanted to do something a bit more than one finger.  I did the the brown candy with coloured dots the same she did with a white polish base and then added the colour afterwards.  This way the colours popped out of the dark brown colour used as the base (Revlon Top Speed 840 Espresso).  The colours I used for the rest of my nails were a dollar store orange from a fluorescent 3 pack from Kozmic Colours on my index finger in the shape of the orange candy only with white stripes from my Quo by ORLY white striper.  My middle finger is a normal purple candy using Revlon Top Speed Dress Code.  I wanted this one to look like the wrapper, but I made it too big.  My ring finger is the blue circle using a blue Kozmic Colours with no name from the dollar store with the white striper putting lines the other way (just need to rotate your finger to get this design easily (but with practice).  Lastly on my pinky is a green square candy using Revlon Top Speed 330 Emerald.  To create the square I used a toothpick.  It really does give increased control and aim.

Purple Toes

So before I removed my purple toes I thought I should take a picture.  I'm not very good at painting my toes.  Flexibility doesn't seem to be what it used to but I thought these turned out quite nice.  It's a purple I bought at the dollar store (Revlon Top Speed Dress Code) and my white and black stipers (Quo by ORLY) used to stripe and dot.

Pinks with Accent Nail

I saw the design on Cult Cosmetics and thought it would be an easy recreation.
I applied OPI Royal Flush Blush on my pinkies and my left hand ring finger.  On my right hand ring finger I put Sally Hansen Nearly Nude 1 Natural White.  On my middle finger I have Wet n Wild Crystalic Amethyst Frost and my index finger is Kozmic Colours from the dollar store in a hot/fluorescent pink.  Lastly my thumb has essence colour & go 108 Ultimate Pink (not in my opinion but it worked to complete my gradient).  Then I used the colours again in the order stated and on my left hand did full stipres down the nail so a quarter of the nail is covered in one of the colours.  On my right hand with the white polish I used my ever handy bobby pin and applied each colour as a dot and gradiated them down my nails.  It's a cool look and the pinks are nice in summer.  Maybe more a spring look but I still like it.

Despicable Me 2: minion nails

I began my manicure with a florescent polish I got from the dollar store under the name Kozmic Colours and then did a french tip done with another dollar store polish from Kozmic Colours.  I put the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails 850 Pumping Iron for the eyes (one or two) and then my Quo by Orly White nail striper to put a white circle inside it and finally my Quo by Orly Black striper to put in the pupil, band for the goggles and finally a smiley face. I got this from cutepolish here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqN4tvW2JmY
