I began this manicure with First Love by Pure Ice as my base and then added Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power 320 and then a no name pink to make the two main colours of this design. Then I mixed white and red acrylic paint to make a very light pink for the lines. I really need to make a very thin liner brush because I am WAY too heavy handed as seen by my attempt at the thin lines that are supposed to divide the two pinks from each other.... Not very happy with the design but they match the colour scheme of my Robin Moses roses on my other hand. Here is the design movie, I just did my own thing to recreate this design. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS725ID8IDE

Attempt at Robin Moses Roses
I wanted to be pretty in pink this week and attempted a Robin Moses design. I have to admit it doesn't look as good as I would have liked but I made the attempt. I started with First Love by Pure Ice and then used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power 320 a no name pink and then made a light pink with good coverage using a mixture of white and red acrylic polishes for the final rose lines. They didn't really look like roses, but then practice makes perfect, right? You can see the Robin Moses design here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTZ5qN4_jwc I just used the below image as my guideline. Robin makes many roses in her designs. This is my attempt at recreation.

Cloudy Sky
Decided on a simple design this week. I might add birds or a kite to this manicure later but it's late and I need to get to bed for work tomorrow. I started with a base of a very old and getting quite gooey light blue from Misslyn. No colour name as it was bought at the dollar store. Then I tore off a piece of a cosmetic sponge and using a white polish added the clouds. They look pretty realistic in my opinion. I did a first coat that was larger white spots then went over them again with a smaller white spot to sort of add dimension. At least that was the effect I was going for.....
Oh yes, while taking pictures my cat came by so I used her as a back drop for one of my pictures... :-)

Robin Moses Butterflies
I was late in doing my nails last week and then really late in posting so I'm doing two weeks at once.
i bought some new polishes at Walmart (shhh don't tell Chris) by the brand name Pure Ice. The colour I started with was First love, I needed a perly pink and this one is quite nice. Then I followed a Robin Moses design https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT3s-8f21B0 and got pretty little butterflies. I also used a nail art glitter on one hand and then just pulled out a glitter polish for the other as I liked it better and could control it's distribution more.

May the Fourth Lightsabers
Star Wars day is here again and I chose to do lightsabers. Mostly because they are easy and I was running out of time before I needed to go to bed. I began my nails with a Wet and Wild black that also has some silver glitter in it. No idea of the name. I then did the shapes with white acrylic paint and went over it with the various colours for the light saber. I thought of doing various colours but Chris is a loyal to the original 3 movies so I kept them simple with red, green and blue. Once I had the lightsabers done I added a bit of Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Celeb City to create the hilts. Not my best work, but I did moons with my dominant hand and was forced to try to do straight lines with my off hand. Not too shabby they sort of look like lightsabers... right? :-)
Phases of the Moon
This idea came to me last week. I thought it would be a neat idea to do the phases of the moon since they all fit on the fingers. I started with a black Wet n Wild with some silver glitter in it then added the moon shapes with my white acrylic paint. I should have added the stars before putting on the moons but I did them afterwards with a new polish I bought from Walmart on the weekend Pure Ice 1005 Dazzle Me. I had to try not to get it on the moon shapes when I applied it. I think they turned out just fine for something of my own creation.
Also this is my 100th blog post. I never thought this would keep me interested for so long but I see more and more people are viewing my pictures so my art is getting out there. It's so very cool!! Thank you.
