So with my base coat laid and research into how to spell Chinese new year I have painted each character on a nail and the horse on my thumb. I used my gold acrylic paint as I thought it would be easier than a striping brush. Here are the results. (Oh in case you are wondering the horse is from a kit kat bar wrapper celebrating the new year).

Chinese New Year: The Horse
I chose Avon Golden Wine N237 to start off my design. In hindsight I should have used a normal red as the gold really doesn't pop out at you very much. I am doing better than last year when I completely gave up on trying to paint Chinese characters on my nails. I did learn today that I should use the faintest of touches with the brush. Don't have the brush touch your nails, just the paint that is on the brush. I hope it will help me create better designs.
